Alanood Alsudairy

Alanood is currently working on getting her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in studio art from the University of Arizona. Through her art she would like to further explore themes of womanhood, culture, race, body image, and the diaspora of middle eastern culture throughout the world, and how that all ties into her own identity. She is a mental health advocate and is interested in the nuanced ties art often has with the psyche. Her aim is to hopefully strike up important conversations within the community, as well as other folks with shared experiences and privileges. Alanood’s work largely revolves around more traditional means of painting and drawing although she never wants to restrict herself to using only one medium and jumps at any opportunity she can to expand her knowledge and experiment.
